Among Good Company: The Elite Contractor Network
Pearl only accepts the top five percent of all U.S. contractors into its Contractor Advantage Network. We spoke with Bob about what it means to be a part of the elite Pearl Network and not surprisingly, Bob connects many of his Pearl benefits with the most important person he serves: the homeowner.

Killer Kitchen Table Conversations
Not only is Bird Family Insulation among elite company within the Pearl Network, when it comes to landing new jobs, it also gives them a pretty good seat at the table.
“At the kitchen table, Pearl helps a homeowner make that emotional decision to choose Bird over the three or four other quotes they may have,” Bob said.
A client, Karen, was referred to Bird Family Insulation through her Realtor. This Realtor was part of a large, prominent brokerage in Atlanta with a staff of over 400. The Realtor wasn’t familiar with Pearl prior to this moment, but saw the Pearl website and thought it could help Karen improve the comfort of her townhome (which was about 40 years old and showed signs of HVAC and insulation issues). Bob told Karen that because he was a part of the Pearl Network, he could offer her a Pearl Certification Report showcasing the improvements she made to her home with Bird Family Insulation.
When marketed properly, by Realtors like Karen’s, Pearl Certified homes can sell for 5% more.
Having heard this, the Realtor wanted to know more. Bob explained how Realtors can benefit from becoming a Pearl Agent Advantage Partner and leverage Pearl to differentiate themselves to sell quicker and for more money. The Realtor invited Bob to visit the brokerage and introduce Pearl to the entire team!
A Win for the Homeowner

The way Bob positions it, the ultimate winner is the homeowner, especially if they intend to refinance or sell their home. Not only do independently certified homes sell faster, they sell for more. Pearl Certified homes sell on average for 5% more.
Advice for Other Contractors?
Should other contractors join the Pearl Contractor Advantage Network? Yes, but only if they’re “at least 200 miles outside of the Atlanta market,” Bob jokes. “I would tell that contractor, do it.”
Bob is focused wholeheartedly on homeowners. He is constantly looking for an advantage with the homeowner because his rates are more expensive than the average contractor. “I have to justify the value and Pearl brings us that value,” Bob explains.
“If I’m charging more it’s because I’m giving greater value to the homeowner. I need some way to help them make that emotional decision and then justify it later, logically,” Bob said. This is when Bob references the value of Pearl’s third-party verification and certification. When marketed properly, Pearl Certified homes sell on average for five percent more.
“Seven out of eight homeowners choose their contractor because of the Pearl Certification. That goes a very long way for us,” Bob said.
“I would say to any contractor, you got to jump on this. It has definitely helped us close at the kitchen table, there’s no question about it,” Bob said.
Bob said that he’s even thinking about incorporating the Pearl logo into his company. “In our fall uniforms, we’re going to co-brand. We want the Pearl logo on our uniforms,” Bob said. “The Pearl Certification logo, it’s powerful.”
