When Aztec Solar first learned about Pearl from another solar company on the East Coast, they were so impressed with the Pearl experience that they became the first solar contractor from California to work with Pearl.
“The team at Pearl has been great to work with,” said Jonathan Gemma, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Aztec Solar.
Solar Focused
Since its founding in 1980, Aztec Solar has been solely focused on providing customers with the best solar experience possible, earning them a reputation for stellar customer service. In fact, their efforts earned them the Heliocol Solar Pool Heating Customer Service Award multiple years running.
Aztec Solar credits their success to constant customer communication and instilling a fervent commitment to delivering exceptional customer service in all of their 60 employees.
Making the Sale
Gemma acknowledges that when selecting a solar contractor, customers should “look at the long-term value of not only the product you are purchasing, but also the contractor as a business. Do they have a good track record? Are they built to stay in business for the period of the warranties you are purchasing?”
Thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act increasing and expanding the Residential Clean Energy Credit, also known as the Solar Investment Tax Credit (ITC), residential solar has increased in popularity like never before.
“Energy efficiency is the No. 1 topic in home ownership,” said Gemma. “Pearl helps guide a homeowner to see the value in these projects and increase the value of their home.”
NEM 3.0, a new net metering policy in California, has made solar more of a technical sale. “NEM 3.0 has created a different selling experience for customers,” said Gemma. “There is a higher value on when you are using power. Adding battery storage to the solar installation is critical to maximizing a customer’s savings.”
With this transformation in selling, offering their customers a Pearl Certification is an essential component in the sales process. “The Pearl Certification is one of the best ways for us to separate our product offering from the competition,” said Gemma. “The Pearl offering has certainly contributed to our increased sales.”
Just as a fellow solar contractor turned Aztec Solar into a Pearl Contractor, so does Gemma hope that others will learn from their success. “Leverage the value-added benefit of Pearl to set yourself apart from your competition,” he says.
