Pearl Certification, a national provider of third-party certification for homes across the U.S., has been named the exclusive home certification partner for the Owens Corning AirCare Contractor Program. Introduced in May 2021, the AirCare program offers contractors a suite of carefully vetted partners who bring a “whole house” approach to achieving high-performing indoor environments.
The collaboration between a program showcasing the HVAC contractor as the go-to authority for in-home environments with a recognized leader in energy certification brings an element of independent authority to the program. Pearl Certification delivers the analysis and metrics that quantify the value the AirCare Contractor Program offers to homeowners.
And in a robust real estate environment, certification provides a standard for accurately assessing and valuing investments in indoor comfort and energy efficiency. Such an approach provides a heightened level of comfort for the homeowner today, while capturing that value when the homeowner is ready to sell.
“Aligning with a certification partner who has earned the respect and trust of the marketplace was a critical priority in developing the AirCare Contractor Program,” says Jessica Bazzi, program lead at Owens Corning. “High-performing homes integrate a systems approach, and that same system philosophy underlies the AirCare Contractor Program.” Remarking on Pearl’s decision to partner with Owens Corning, Robin LeBaron, co-founder and president of Pearl Certification, cited the value the program offers to both contractors and homeowners. LeBaron commented, “The AirCare Contractor Program and Pearl are a great match because both focus on growing a contractor's business by educating homeowners on the better quality of life made possible by a high-performing home. Also, AirCare and Pearl bring complementary benefits to the contractor that underscore selling value over price - the value of healthy air, a comfortable home, lower bills, and an ROI at refinance or resale.”
The program’s launch coincides with an opportune moment in the real estate market for growth-minded contractors. A resurgence in remodeling, robust activity in the residential real estate environment and growing interest in indoor air quality point to the value homeowners place on indoor comfort and how they view their home as a place of retreat from the cares of the world.
Cynthia Adams, co-founder and CEO of Pearl Certification noted, “As our nation emerges from the pandemic, we do so at a time when energy bills are historically high and homeowners are more sensitized to all that is right and wrong with their living space. Given the shortage of new construction and very low housing inventory, owners and buyers have little choice but to live with what they have or take what's available. But with the right set of upgrades, anyone can enjoy the comfort of a modern home and ensure their greatest asset appreciates in value.”
